JMAPS Updates

Today we released version 1.57 of JMAPS. The main updates included in this release are as follows:

• Series Tag Categories

  • Previously Series Tags were one dimensional, meaning there was only one place to input tags and only one field for Operators
  • Now multiple categories for Series Tags can be defined yielding multiple inputs for the Operator (ex. capture Supporting Arguments and Themes)

• Natural Language Processing (NLP) pipeline

  • A basic NLP pipeline has been setup that will extract links, mentions (i.e. @'s), hashtags, and named entities (i.e. People, Organizations, Locations, etc.) from Message text, specifically the Description, Message (if language is supported), Translation, and any captions added to Message attachments
  • Primarily intended for data enhancement to provide high level view of commonalities across Messages

• Engagements capture for Website Content (JMAPS Green only)

  • Allows users to input links for Social Media disseminations directly onto the approved article
  • If you are interested in trying this functionality, please reach out to me for setup

• Message linking for Website Content (JMAPS Green only)

  • If a JMAPS Message is being created to support approved Website Content it can now be linked back to the associated Website Content for traceability

• Improvements to Website Content workflow (JMAPS Green only)

  • New "On Hold" step to save an article for approval later

  • The "Closed" state has been split into three new states:

    • Awaiting Disseminations - Approved but awaiting Social Media dissemination links (reliant upon Engagements field being configured for the Organization, see second bullet regarding "Engagements capture...")
    • Completed - Article has been Approved/Published
    • Killed - Article was either explicitly Killed or Rejected

  • Additionally, colors for workflow states have been updated to align with other workflows throughout JMAPS for uniformity

• Dark mode support ("If only you knew the power of the dark side...")

• New Message approval workflow available:

  • Operator -> Approver workflow with no Review or Validation step

• Added Campaign (CONOP) as Metadata configuration option in Org Admin section

• Improved UI/UX of User/Team assignment in Org Admin section

  • When assigning roles for a User, Org Admins will now select the Team, which will add it to a table below where the necessary roles can then be assigned by clicking the "X" icon to transition it to a "✓"

• Miscellaneous UI improvements

• Miscellaneous bug fixes
